International Shipping Order Process
First, call us to "Book" your shipment.
We will provide you with a ‘Booking Confirmation’ that tells you where to deliver your freight (if it is not being picked up), required delivery date, Vessel Name and arrival information. You will need this information when you deliver to the warehouse or when your boxes are picked up.
Pack your boxes and mark them properly. Your name as "Shipper" and name and address of your "Consignee" party (the person you designate to pick up your boxes at the CFS at your destination) must be on both sides and the top of every box.
Mark your "Booking Number" in large letters on each box.
After your boxes have been delivered to the warehouse, you will be issued a ‘Cargo Receipt’ or a ‘Bill of Lading’ that will include all charges for your shipment.
You will also receive an invoice so you can make arrangements to pay for your shipment.
The ‘Cargo Receipt’ will act as a receipt for your goods and this is the contract of carriage between you and the carrier.
You will be required to send your ‘Cargo Receipt’ to the person receiving your goods. They should contact the "Delivery Agent" listed on the ‘Cargo Receipt’ on or near the scheduled arrival date to arrange for pick-up and customs clearance.
International Shipping FAQ's
Do you provide boxes?
No, you should provide your own boxes. They may be obtained at any U Haul or other box vendors, such as Anchor Box, etc.
How much can I ship at one time?
There is no limit to the size of your shipment. For large shipments over 10 cubic meter please ask for our volume discount.
There is no weight limitation for a box as long as the weight capacity of the box is not exceeded.
Why are there minimum shipments?
The freight shipping industry has fixed minimum charges per shipment that have to be covered.
What does the price actually cover?
The rate covers all costs from warehouse receiving to arrival at the destination warehouse. See rate section. The only additional charges will be local delivery charges to consignee per the custom of the port.
How often can I ship?
Our schedule calls for weekly service to all areas. Boxes should be delivered to our warehouses by the date and time indicated on booking confirmation.
How long does it take to arrive?
Transit time depends on your destination. Europe is generally two weeks, most destinations in the Far East 4 to 5 weeks and India is 5 to 6 weeks.
When and how do I pay for my shipment?
Payment can be made by Bank check, certified check, bank transfer, wire transfer, direct deposit, cash, money order or credit card and must be made prior to shipment from our warehouse.
Can I insure my packages?
Yes you can and should insure your shipment. Marine insurance is very important and wise to have for any shipment but not mandatory. Insurance can be purchased at $1.80 cents per $100.00 value declared but will not cover content breakage that has not been professionally packed.
Your ocean bill of lading is issued subject to the terms of international shipping laws with carrier's liability limited to $500.00 per box but this does not cover breakage, therefore do not skimp on packing and cushioning for your items.
